About

About This Wiki

This is an unofficial, fan-run wiki for Total War: SHOGUN 2 and its Complete Edition. It exists because the game explains very little: the food surplus rule, the tax growth penalty, the morale maths behind a spear wall and the exact moment the Realm Divide triggers are all discoverable, but none of them are obvious when they first cost you a campaign.

Everything here is written to be used while playing. Clan pages compare starting positions and signature bonuses, unit pages give each unit the one job it performs better than anything else, and campaign pages walk through the systems in the order you actually meet them. Corrections and additions are welcome.

About the Game

Total War: SHOGUN 2 was developed by Creative Assembly and published by SEGA in March 2011. It alternates between a turn-based campaign across Sengoku-era Japan and real-time battles, with two expansion campaigns set in the Genpei War and the 1864 Boshin War. The Complete Edition rebuilds the package for modern hardware and opens more than fifty minor clans to play.
